Who We Are

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanic Trades Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to kick-start their career in mechanical trades and gain valuable hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced mechanics. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our mechanical operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our equipment. The selected candidate will be supporting RCOH Elevator Support Unit (ESU) by working on mechanical systems to assist with refit and fleet modernization of Aircraft Elevators.

What You Will Do

• Assists workers in the skilled maintenance trades.
• Performs specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials and tools; cleaning working area, machine, and equipment; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed.
• Position may perform specialized machine operations.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs to various machines under supervision.
• May make local pick up and deliveries of supplies and company equipment and material, paint, lag, surface preparation and minor facilities maintenance.
• Check and return tools from tool room.
• Assists in receipt and inventory of material, tools and equipment.

What You Must Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Candidate must have strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in the mechanical trades.
• Candidate must be able to follow safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment.
• Canddiate must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment.
• Candidate must be able to provide hand tools per trade designation.
• Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

Bonus Points For Having!

• Candidate with a current or active DoD clearance preferred.
• OSHA 10 Maritime Certification
• Knowledge of Navy Tag Out program, NSTM 300, and 3M manual

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to
