You will support the design and implementation of HVDC Control &amp; Protection Systems by analyzing customer requirements, assessing the necessary deviations from standard solutions, and providing technical solutions that meet project delivery and tender objectives.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>Developing organizational talent</p></li><li><p>Engineering process management</p></li><li><p>Providing technical guidance</p></li><li><p>Driving consistent design practices and common global processes for projects</p></li><li><p>Interfacing with customers</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Essential Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>Leading a team that designs, develops, configures, and verifies HVDC Control &amp; Protection Systems</p></li><li><p>Driving consistent design practices and common global processes for project implementation</p></li><li><p>Providing technical solutions that meet project and tender objectives</p></li><li><p>Development of PSCAD Network Model, Control MATLAB application Model, Control system block diagram, ONM Manuals, MATLAB application unit, and system integration testing</p></li><li><p>PSSE/PSCAD and PSSE/RSCAD Power system network conversion, modeling, and verification</p></li><li><p>HVDC System in electromagnetic transient tools like PSCAD, EMTP-RV, etc.</p></li><li><p>Plant modeling in various simulation tools (MATLAB, RSCAD, PSCAD, etc.) and its verification</p></li><li><p>Dynamic performance studies using both offline and online simulation tools</p></li><li><p>Control parameters tuning to meet grid stability criteria specified in customer technical specifications</p></li><li><p>Algorithm and state machine development in MATLAB Simulink</p></li><li><p>Conversion of MATLAB Simulink algorithms to other suitable time domain library models</p></li><li><p>Executing and providing guidance for the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices, and procedures, and the product/program requirements</p></li><li><p>Supporting improvements to existing <span>algorithms/strategies</span> for power fault recovery or instability issues during DPS studies</p></li><li><p>Ensuring that project plans contain the necessary activities and studies required to meet the requirements of the customer and the proposed technical solution</p></li><li><p>Recruiting, coaching, and/or developing organizational talent</p></li><li><p>Providing direction and/or guidance to exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. May supervise non-exempt employees</p></li><li><p>Managing the engineering resources, workload, schedule, and project milestones</p></li><li><p>Playing a key role in engineering design reviews and technical leadership, identifying potential project risks and technical weaknesses, and proposing safe, reliable, and compliant solutions</p></li><li><p>Working closely with internal and external customers to arrive at engineering specifications that optimize the commercial potential of new and existing products</p></li><li><p>Keeping the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision-making and action</p></li><li><p>Building strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives</p></li><li><p>Developing and executing organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups by utilizing <span>technical/professional</span> knowledge and skills</p></li><li><p>Defining the project work breakdown structure (WBS), resources, and skill levels required to meet the delivery timescales</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications / Essential Requirements:</b></p><ul><li><p>Engineering degree or equivalent, including power systems and power electronics subjects, or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in the HVDC business</p></li><li><p>More than 10 years’ experience in the HVDC industry, including HVDC station equipment and design</p></li><li><p>Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organizational risks</p></li><li><p>Proven skills in managing and leading a team with a strong technical background</p></li><li><p>Experienced in Protection &amp; Control system design application and have strong problem-solving skills</p></li><li><p>Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
