QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in social work or a related field preferred. Associate's Degree or equivalent years of residential experience required.
  • Licensure: None required. Valid Ohio LPC, LPCC, LSW, or LISW preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical skills including expertise in systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions, group work and substance abuse therapy.
    Demonstrated supervisory skills.
    Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.

  • Experience: 2-3 years working with Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children and/or children with behavior problems and their families.1-2 years supervisory/management experience in a residential treatment, social service, or mental health setting.    
  • Other: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company. Must be approved by Applewood to transport clients in own vehicle.
AGENCY SUMMARY:
Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Cottage Supervisor provides oversight of programming, leadership, case management, and supervision of all activities and program staff (Treatment Specialists) assigned to a Residential Treatment Program. The Cottage Supervisor ensures that the residential milieu is functioning consistent with state licensure, national accreditation, crisis intervention training, best practices for trauma informed residential care and the individual service plan (ISP) of the client.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Teach and role model program structure, routines, expectations and appropriate interventions for Treatment Specialists.
  2. Implement, monitor and manage level groups, goal groups, point store, and tracks allowance.
  3. Complete documentation requirements per agency standards and education and licensure as assigned including ISP development, MUI, non-billable progress notes and ICMP's.
