Job Description

We are looking for a Product Design Intern to join our Design team. Our focus is to create world-class experiences for our customers. We pride ourselves in rethinking established paradigms and bringing creative solutions into existence in the financial space.

Product Design Interns are given the opportunity to take on real and impactful projects, usually from ideation to production. This includes collaborating with other designers and cross functional partners, understanding the customer and problem space, exploring and converging on potential solutions, presenting to stakeholders, and developing strong instincts and skills along the way.

Financial Services is a team that exists to bring financial freedom to all our customers. We help customers from the moment they get paid to the moment they file their taxes, while helping them manage, save, spend, invest, borrow, and learn about money along the way. Within Financial Services, you’ll be working on the banking team. We focus on providing the best banking experience for our customers, whether it be with your Cash Card, direct deposit, money management, and more. As a Product Design Intern on Banking, you will have ample opportunity to help customers improve their financial wellbeing.

Qualifications

We welcome an inclusive mixture of early career students that have a passion and purpose for Product Design and/or related fields. Whether you are studying for a traditional 4-year degree, completing a creative bootcamp/program or self-taught looking to make a career transition, we want to see your portfolio!  

You Have:

• Strong visual and UX design fundamentals
• Solid understanding of common design principles
• Familiarity with the product development process
• Ability to partner with research, writing, product, engineering, and other core disciplines to create a well-rounded and elegant customer experience
• Ability to work within a design system, flexing when needed
• Generous dose of imagination and creativity
• Bias towards action and taking initiative
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• No ego, open-minded, growth mindset

Cash App internships are 12-weeks and available for US Summer 2023

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on the candidate's work location and may be may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $43.00
Zone B: USD $40.85
Zone C: USD $38.70
Zone D: USD $36.55
