Summary
This is an on-site, 8-hour position with the following work schedule: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on the closing date.The HR Generalist acts as an integral member of the HR Team and requires the ability to make decisions, multi-task, and prioritize their work independently to ensure customer satisfaction and confidentiality.
The HR Generalist is an administrative role that will assist in all aspects of the Human Resources Department and its functional areas such as recruitment, benefits, employee relations, classification and compensation, leave administration. This role is also tasked with purchase orders, invoice payment and tracking and reporting departmental expenses to the Human Resources Director for review and approval.
Examples of duties
- Serves as first point of contact for the Human Resources Department
- Responds to internal and external HR inquiries
- Provides assistance to the talent acquisition, benefits administration and performance management programs.
- Serves as back up to other HR roles as assigned.
- Records Management
- Performs HR data entry, reporting and auditing
- Tracks monthly and yearly HR budget spending to prevent overspending
- Reconciles monthly credit card statements and vendor invoices for HR expenses.
- Submits purchase orders and invoices for payment
- Reports budget variances to the HR Director monthly.
Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in HR, with the ability to apply policies and procedures to help others understand their options and make informed decisions.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and organizational policies and procedures when navigating diverse situations, ensuring compliance and consistency.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment while maintaining accuracy, organization, and exceptional customer service.
- Effective problem-solving and case management skills, including tracking inquiries, researching answers, and following through to resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor, track and reconcile transactions for quality assurance and timeliness.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential or sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to learn new software platforms and navigate multiple systems simultaneously
- Knowledge of budgetary processes.
- Proficient in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite applications, HR information systems and applicant tracking systems
Supplemental information
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least four years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
