About the role

Purpose
Provide relentless LEADERSHIP for both safety and continuous improvement on RMA Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Ensure longevity and care for plant equipment, buildings and operations.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below:

1. General Policy
a. Ensure all equipment, building and plant operations are SAFE and in good working condition.
b. Provide clear direction and consistent supervision to all of your Maintenance Team members.
c. Responsible for maintaining and improving the Preventative Maintenance System (PMS).
d. As part of PMS, measure and record screw/rotor and barrel/chamber wear – take action as needed.
e. Coordinate, assign and direct daily, weekly, monthly and yearly schedules.
f. Plan, organize and execute tasks and/or repairs.
g. Implement engineering changes to equipment as necessary.
h. Responsible for repairs of equipment in a timely manner.
i. Responsible for installations of new and existing equipment.
j. Responsible for waste water process and City Water Department relations (if applicable)
k. Work with Contractors, Vendors, OEM Suppliers and Machine Shops.
l. Work with local power, gas and water departments.
m. Responsible for negotiating pricing and terms for parts and equipment.
n. Work with Responsible for Critical Spare Parts inventory – organize storage.
o. Ensure key equipment suppliers carry “big ticket” spare parts on their shelves for Ravago.
p. Predict parts orders as needed due to performance wear and fatigue of equipment.
q. Schedule delivery of parts and equipment as needed.
r. Schedule and implement at least two plant shut downs each year for preventative maintenance.
s. Permanent member of RMA Safety Committee.
t. Create and track performance data points for equipment when needed.
u. Implement employee training where areas are needed.
v. Demonstrate skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
w. Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematic diagrams and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
x. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
y. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines.
z. Troubleshoot and repair equipment in a timely manner.
aa. Asset tracking and disposal of old equipment.
bb. Implement capital expenditure projects on-time, on-budget, right the first time and safely.
cc. Maintain tools and gages in good working condition and well organized.
dd. Responsible to create machine parts accrual for accurate spend yearly for operations.
ee. Monthly budget tracking for repair expenses.
ff. Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.
gg. Support Continuous Improvement Teams (CIT) as needed.
hh. Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
ii. Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct standards.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
1. Education:
a. High school diploma or equivalent.
b. Must have completed vocational school Industrial Maintenance program or have five years (minimum) work experience in the field of Industrial Maintenance.
2. Experience:
a. Ability to operate a fork truck and articulate boom.
b. Must possess excellent interpersonal, people management and problem solving skills.
c. Ability to read, speak and write English efficiently preferred.
d. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
e. Detail oriented and ability to prioritize.
f. Ability to multi-task.
g. Preferred if skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
h. Self-motivator.
i. Measures twice and cuts once.

To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility. The requirements listed below are representative of observable behaviors and essential knowledge, skill, and abilities required of a successful incumbent within our culture.
1. Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
2. Must be comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment.
3. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
4. All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
