Packaging Team Lead Job Description

 

Ornua Ingredients North America is a leading manufacturer of customized cheese products, supplying high-quality ingredients to customers across the U.S. We’re looking for a hands-on, reliable, and organized individual to join our Packaging Department as a Team Lead.

 

What You’ll Do:

As the Packaging Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for helping the team stay organized, keeping production running smoothly, and supporting both the people and the process on the floor. This is a working lead role, meaning you’ll step in and assist wherever needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign daily tasks to packaging team members
• Help prepare materials (labels, packaging supplies) for daily production
• Assist with machine setup and filler weight adjustments
• Step in to cover breaks and help on the line when needed
• Ensure production records and labels are completed accurately and on time
• Support team members by resolving minor issues and escalating concerns as needed
• Monitor supply levels and assist with inventory checks
• Maintain cleanliness and follow all food safety and workplace safety procedures

 

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Willingness to jump in and support wherever needed
• Ability to lead by example and communicate effectively with team members
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cold production environment
• Basic computer skills to complete documentation and reports

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Experience in a food production or packaging environment is a plus
• Leadership or team lead experience preferred, but not required

 

Work Environment:

• Cold, refrigerated production facility
• Hands-on, physical role with regular walking, lifting, and moving materials
