Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Supply Chain is seeking a Materials Management Manager (Level K) to support 787 Operations located in San Antonio, Texas on variable shift.

You will lead a team who collaborates with supplier management and mechanics on the aircraft (testing, flight readiness), to support Airplane customer delivery for the 787 Program. This role involves leading manager operations including Parts, Tools, Hazmat, and Shipping.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads a core team of employees and contractors focusing on personal and aircraft safety

  • Manages, leads, and integrates employees activities across more than one area in materials, part inventory management and fulfillment

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and employees/direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, coaches, develops and motivates employees

​Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'

  • 3+ years of inventory management experience

  • 3+ years of experience working with multiple internal stakeholders and suppliers

  • Experience directly interfacing with/supporting customers (e.g. Operations, Quality, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, EHS)

  • Willingness and ability to work any shift assigned based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • People focused leadership skills

  • Ability to multi-task and quickly shift priorities

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team

  • 3+ years of experience using Lean manufacturing principles within the production management system

Shift:

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift.
