About the role

As Gatik continues to grow rapidly and expand its accounting and finance operations, we are looking for an accomplished and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to play a pivotal role in our finance team. This leadership position involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, driving accurate and timely financial reporting, and strengthening internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in GAAP, proficiency with NetSuite, and a proven track record of leading and mentoring teams. What you'll do

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, fixed assets and intercompany accounting.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial statements and reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Implement and manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including coordinating responsibilities and team wide review  
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems, leveraging NetSuite expertise to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Manage the consolidation of the company’s US and Canadian operating results  through NetSuite
• Work with the Controller to develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Develop and maintain monthly cash flow expectations based on AP, AR, payroll, and capital expenditures.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
• Work with the Controller to manage external audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate completion and compliance.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, assessing their impact on the company and implementing necessary changes.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis as needed.
• Play a key role in the ongoing reorganization of the accounting and finance function, helping to define roles, responsibilities, and workflows.
• Manage and develop relationships with commercial banking partners.
• Support other projects as directed.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Extensive experience with NetSuite is required, and proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, preferably in the technology or logistics industry.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
