OFFICE LOCATIONS
Long Beach or Rancho Cucamonga, CA (2 days in-office, 3 days remotely)
Other hybrid office locations as noted in posting.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Process low-level workers' compensation claims to determine benefits, ensure ongoing adjudication per standards, and identify subrogation opportunities to negotiate settlements under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES MAY INCLUDE

  • Processes low-level workers' compensation claims, determining compensability and benefits for long-term indemnity cases.
  • Develops and executes action plans, including return-to-work efforts, and approves claim payments.
  • Monitors reserve accuracy and ensures timely filing with state agencies.
  • Administers subrogation and negotiates settlements.
  • Communicates claim actions with claimants and clients.
  • Ensures proper documentation and accurate claims coding.
  • May handle lifetime or defined-period medical claims, including filings and treatment decisions.
  • Maintains professional client relationships.
  • Supports organizational quality programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and travels as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing: 2 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. 
  • Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.

Licensing / Jurisdiction Knowledge: California workers’ compensation claims handling experience required | SIP preferred

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $25.00-$30.00/yr.
