What you will do

The Maintenance and Calibration Supervisor is responsible for managing the site calibration program, supervising plant electricians, and providing leadership and technical support to maintenance, engineering, and automation activities. This role ensures that all equipment, utilities, and electrical systems remain in a validated, compliant, and reliable state to support manufacturing, packaging, and facilities operations. The individual will supervise a team of  calibration and electrical technicians, coordinate external contractors, and collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and EHS to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop maintenance, calibration, and electrical technicians, including planning, coordinating, and scheduling activities to minimize business interruptions while ensuring compliance with cGMP, regulatory, and safety requirements.

  • Manage the site-wide calibration program, ensuring instruments, sensors, and automation systems are calibrated, documented, and compliant with regulatory requirements and internal SOPs.

  • Oversee and direct plant electricians to ensure reliable operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the site’s electrical infrastructure, including distribution systems, switchgear, lighting, and control systems.

  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation for equipment, utilities, electrical, and instrumentation issues.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance calibration processes and ensure compliance with industry standards

  • Partner with Engineering and Automation teams to support new equipment installation, validation, and integration into existing systems.

  • Maintain and optimize the preventive and predictive maintenance program (e.g., Maximo or equivalent) to ensure asset reliability and extend equipment life cycles.

  • Evaluate equipment performance criteria (for condition monitoring and failure analysis) to assess equipment condition and ensure that preventative maintenance is performed at correct intervals.

  • Ensure reliable and efficient operation of all utilities and facilities systems (HVAC, USP Water, Boilers, Chillers, Compressed Air, Electrical, Fire Protection, etc.).

  • Develop and enforce maintenance, electrical safety, and calibration procedures, change controls, protocols, and reports.

  • Oversee contractors, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality standards are met.

  • Lead and coordinate shutdown activities and support commissioning, and qualification activities by providing required supervision and coverage.

  • Participate in annual budgeting, cost control, and purchasing for maintenance, calibration, and electrical functions.

  • Act as a servant leader, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.

Other Functions

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Complete required training and tasks on time.

  • Report and correct deviations in a timely manner.

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and “right-first-time” execution.
