Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
Your Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer at John Deere Turf Care located in Fuquay-Varina, NC, you will be on the supplier quality team supporting current production and quality planning activities for future parts for our products, Commercial Mowing and Golf & Sports Turf. In addition you will:
- Lead and facilitate quality planning activitieies such as DPAR (Design Process and Assembly Review) to ensure quality planning alignment with the supplier and our cross functional team.
- Investigate shop floor supplier quality issues, focusing on containment and driving suppliers to root cause and corrective action.
- Use Six Sigma and other quality tools such as statistical analysis and 8D methodology to ensure the identification and resolution of quality concerns for externally manufactured parts and assemblies.
- Conduct supplier quality audits, process verification audits, and lead Quality Improvement Teams.

What Skills You Need
- Experience with quality management, and or manufacturing processes
- Experience with standard quality management principles and tools (such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Capability Studies)
- 1 year or more of experience in driving a closed loop corrective action process.
- Experience reading and interpreting complex part drawings, including functional knowledge of GD&T
- Effective writing skills including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style
What Makes You Standout
- Previous experience in supplier quality engineering
- Experience with common commodities (plastics, casting, hydraulics, etc.)
- Knowledge of Turf Care products and suppliers
- Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and initiative
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or in a related field or equivalent related work experience
