The Second Shift Operator Team Lead is a full-time hands-on lead role responsible for performing operational tasks within both Production and Distribution while providing guidance and oversight to the shift team, working Monday-Friday 1:00p-9:00p. This position ensures efficient workflows, adherence to quality and safety standards, and timely execution of organizational objectives. The Working Team Lead balances direct participation in daily operations with leadership responsibilities to support team performance and departmental goals.
Operational Duties:
- Perform activities within both Production and Distribution to maintain efficient workflows and meet shift objectives
- Handle materials and assist with order fulfillment as needed to support team productivity
- Ensure accuracy in product handling and packaging
Team Lead Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and prioritize tasks across both departments to meet Production schedules and Distribution deadlines
- Provide on-the-job guidance, coaching, and support to team members during shift operations
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols and quality standards, addressing issues promptly
- Must be able to work independently, self-motivated and take initiative
- Serve as the primary point of contact for shift-related concerns and communicate effectively with management
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in production, distribution, or related operations; prior leadership experience preferred
- Technical/mechanical aptitude is helpful but not required
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with inventory systems and basic computer applications
- Hands-on leadership and adaptability
- Team collaboration and coaching with attention to detail and quality focus
- Safety and compliance awareness
- Ability to balance operational and supervisory responsibilities
- Basic PC skills
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand basic English
