This position is accountable for “customer attendance” to meet defined sales growth targets through maintenance of existing customer base and identify new business opportunities. Plan, develop, coordinate and implement sales and marketing activities relative to key accounts.  Manage and support sales efforts of regional distributors.  Identify and develop new business opportunities and markets and report findings back to B/L management. Identify and coordinate technical service projects with customers and prepare requisite reports. Support BL initiatives in the Americas and implement pricing strategy. This position should act as the “voice of the customer & market” internally while being the “voice of the company” externally.

Fully Remote/ Midwest/Great lake area is the focus / Detroit/ Michigan/ Ohio/ Wisconsin / Illinois

Salary range: $108,500 - $197,000 per year (salary to be determined by geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzes potential for business expansion at accounts in the territory.
  • Works with the regional/global market segment teams to establish the commercial conditions (pricing, payment, terms, bonuses, consignment, discounts, etc.) for the direct accounts in the territory.
  • Oversees technical projects at the accounts in coordination with the Applied Research and Technology team.
  • Develops and regularly updates the account plans (utilizing the IMPAX process) in alignment with market segment team strategies for the relevant accounts.
  • Identifies key decision makers and expands the breadth and depth of direct account penetration with key stakeholders.
  • Identifies partnership opportunities for growth and brings them to fruition.
  • Sets annual targets for growth and maintains monthly IBP Forecasting.
  • Works effectively and communicates collaboratively with CAD cross-functional teams, especially ART, customer service, marketing, and supply chain.
  • Collect and report on market trends and competitive activities.
  • Timely and accurate completion of all reporting requirements including: account plans, customer call reports, monthly reports, monthly forecasts, mid-term planning forecasts and expense reports.
  • Achieve target for receivables and past due payments. Utilize contacts within the customer organizations that can support the credit department as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S in chemistry, chemical engineering or related technical field, MBA is a plus
  • >10 years selling experience in a technical sales or coatings market & additives preferred.
  • Must have the ability to build relationships at target accounts with corporate purchasing, R&D and non-purchasing, including plant locations.
  • Must have a high level of organization skills to balance multiple activities (sales calls, reporting, technical training, communications, forecasting, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong written and presentation skills, and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively across different cultures, open-minded and impartial.
  • Ability to self-motivate, maintain high level of organization and operate effectively within a complex matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Suite, and SAP/CRM
  • Valid Driver’s License.
