Holland Hall was established in 1922 and currently serves approximately 1,000 preK through 12th grade students in a coeducational setting. THIS POSITION

In the role of Primary School Academic Support Services Teacher, you will provide academic support to students in PreK through 3rd grade, serving as a resource regarding learning issues and related services for teachers, parents, and students. You will observe, assess, and develop an individualized learning plan for students referred for academic support services, provide remediation for these students, and communicate with both teachers and parents as needed concerning student progress. You will also administer reading assessments and reading readiness screenings as needed as part of the admissions process. In addition, you will formally communicate with parents twice per year through written reports and parent conferences. Academic Support Teachers also serve on various school-wide committees as the Primary School representative.

Qualifications

Interested candidates must have a bachelor’s degree. Previous teaching experience with the target age is also desired. A master’s degree and independent school experience are preferred but not required. Special consideration will be given to exemplary candidates who can also support a significant extracurricular activity or coach a sport.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work day from 7:45 to 3:45. Faculty often must prepare lesson plans and meet with parents/students well before and after the above mentioned times.

  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
