Pratt & Whitney's Hot Section Engineering Support to Operations (HSE ESTO) organization is seeking a goal-oriented, detail-focused Design Engineer II to work for our Turbine Rotors Design Team in East Hartford, CT.

What You Will Do:

  • Actively engaged in various production support activities for both military and commercial Turbine Rotors and Shafts.
  • Collaboration with Compression Systems Module Center Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to deliver onsite production support in Middletown, CT.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams including employees from operations, quality, procurement, and engineering disciplines, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to drive root cause investigations, develop associated corrective actions, and implement product and process improvements.
  • Develop Class II engineering change packages to improve quality, cost, and producibility metrics.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or in a related field, and 2 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree.
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, and CAD Software.
  • Previous design or manufacturing experience.

Department/Segment Overview:

  • Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) provides dedicated support by eliminating quality notifications, escapes, works stops and enabling producibility and delivery of legacy and new parts, assemblies, modules, and engines. ESTO covers all engine programs and part families, enabling engine deliveries, first piece reviews, first article inspections, analysis automation, process certification. ESTO also supports the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiative in Operations. Technical disciplines in ESTO include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units. Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith
