Production Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations for one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, ensuring that products are manufactured to the highest quality standards while meeting customer demands and maintaining cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Planning and Scheduling
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and internal operational targets.
• Ensure the availability of materials, equipment, and labor to meet production targets.
• Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen delays.

• Quality Control
• Establish and maintain quality standards for products.
• Implement quality control procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Address quality issues promptly and work to reduce defect rates.

• Team Management
• Supervise, train, and develop production staff, including machinists, operators, and technicians.
• Foster a safe and productive working environment.
• Conduct performance reviews and manage staffing levels to meet production goals.

• Maintenance and Equipment Management
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely.

• Inventory Management
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
• Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• 
  
• Cost Control and Budgeting
• Develop and manage the production budget.
• Monitor production costs and work to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
• Ensure that production stays within budget while meeting quality and delivery targets.

• Health and Safety Compliance
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Promote a culture of safety among staff.


• Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Implement lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity.
• Lead initiatives to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve product quality.


• Reporting and Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and defect rates.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management.
• Use data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Production Manager in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and inventory management.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in using production management software and other relevant tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
