KBR is recruiting full-time Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Interns for the winter/spring 2024 semester. MBSE is the formalized application of modeling to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification and validation. At KBR, Model-Based Systems Engineers support government customers in engineering design, acquisitions, and education and training. MBSE interns at KBR will implement MBSE using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML), the most widespread language for systems modeling.
Responsibilities:
- Explore Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches for defense applications
- Develop curriculum to train engineers in systems theory and MBSE
- Gain a wide breadth of experience in SysML modeling to support MBSE education
Skills and Qualifications:
- Rising junior, senior, or graduate student working toward an engineering degree, ABET-accredited preferred
- Emphasis on students with coursework in the areas of: Systems and Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
- Must work well in both a team environment and independently
- Must have excellent computer skills
- Must be a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
- Must have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement
- Self-motivated; takes ownership of projects and issues, and following issues through to resolution
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
