Job Description

Abcam, a global leader in protein sciences, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Team Lead in Protein Manufacturing. As we continue to advance our protein sciences worldwide, this role will play a crucial part in leading daily operations, ensuring efficiency, and contributing to the growth of our dynamic organization.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily stand-up meetings, coordinate assignments, and prioritize tasks within your functional area.
• Support production by analyzing work totals, addressing workflow disruptions, and collaborating with the Supply Chain team for productivity optimization and workload leveling.
• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
• Collaborate with the protein R&D team for tech transfer of new products into the manufacturing pipeline.
• Generate and communicate reports for protein production, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform documented methods for finished product quality testing and review manufacturing documentation for process deviations.
• Maintain an archive of control sample inventory and collaborate with the BIP team to design experiments and troubleshoot in the production of products.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, biological sciences, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). With a minimum of 2 years of experience in protein expression and purification, preferably within a biotech or life sciences environment, you bring a strong foundation to the role. Your extensive knowledge of cGMP compliance, site, and regulatory agency requirements and procedures is complemented by your experience in utilizing multiple root cause analysis tools.

Understanding laboratory operations and complex manufacturing processes, you have demonstrated leadership skills with at least 2 years of experience leading a team. Accomplishing tasks within established timelines is second nature to you, and your experience working with cross-functional project teams showcases your ability to be a creative problem solver with a keen attention to detail.
