Accounts Payable Specialist

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist in our Albuquerque office to support our company in 15+ locations. Responsible for performing routine clerical accounting work and assisting in the preparation of accounting reports. Prepares reports and computes, posts or checks various items from original sources. Duties may include accounts receivable, accounts payable, and/or general accounting.

Essential Job Functions:

• Review invoices prior for appropriate documentation, researches discrepancies, and obtains approval prior to payment. Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
• Distributes signed checks as required.
• Answers vendor inquiries.
• Assists in monthly closings.
• Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
• Processes credit card payments and credits.
• Monthly journal entries, accruals, and reversals.
• Prepares deposits.
• Prepares analysis for accounts, as required.
• Provides general administrative and clerical support for day-to-day managerial and departmental needs and special projects.
• Fleet Management.
• Auto and Property claims.
• Prepares and tracks asset disposals.
• Corporate Authority.
• Audit Support.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• 6-8 years of experience in accounting
• Associates degree preferred but not required
• Primary accounting and multi-state taxes a plus

Required Skills:

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Annual Hourly Rate: $26.00 - $35.00 (Depending on Experience)
