(Job #558726) Accounting Technician II, Registered Student Organization Financial Coordinator/Cashier, CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,037 – $5,881 per month (Step 1- Step 20), Anticipated Hiring Salary: $4,037 per month (Step 1). Final salary placement is commensurate with experience, internal equity, and budget considerations. This is a full-time, benefited, non-exempt, 12-month pay plan, permanent position, with a one-year probationary period in the Student Financial Services Department. Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Cashier Manager, the Registered Student Organization Financial Coordinator/Cashier performs daily accounting duties to provide financial oversite for Registered Student Organizations. These duties include reviewing/processing purchases and reimbursements, reviewing fundraising requests/activities, maintaining trust fund ledgers, training for best business practices and cash handling, help with travel requests, accounting, inventory controls and audits of sales. This position will also serve as a backup Cashier at a cashiering window processing payments and providing customer service in person, over the phone and via email. This position will require some hours outside of the typical Monday-Friday 8am-5pm work schedule including nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Organization event/fundraising activities – 45%
- Conduct financial training for organization officers and members
- Review event/fundraising request forms
- Meet with organization members to discuss process as needed
- Coordinate/connect RSO leaders with other offices on campus as needed
- Create online storefronts
- Receive, verify, and record event/fundraising deposits
- Be present at events/fundraisers as needed
General support for Registered Student Organizations – 25%
- Point of contact for all organization financial questions
- Review and process organization purchases
- Review and process reimbursements for organization members
- Help with the travel process within Concur program
- Maintain accounting ledgers for all organization financial activity. Identify, trace and correct discrepancies
