Maintenance Tech I

Pay Details:

The starting hourly rate range for this position is $20.31 to 25.38 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will take internal value, peer equity, job-related factors, and other organizational considerations into account.

The Maintenance Tech I is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position within the Operations Department of the Honda Center. Maintenance Techs are responsible for performing maintenance duties as required and responding and resolving building-related problems and/or service requests. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and in a team dynamic. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Repair drywall, paint, tile, carpet, concrete patching, door and lock repair, and other repairs as necessary

• Perform required repairs/upkeep as needed to arena seating and miscellaneous equipment

• Metal and woodworking – fabrication/welding

• Maintain proper inventory levels in the Maintenance Shop and pick up supplies as needed 

• Perform preventive inspections 

• Able to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and aerial lift and can obtain necessary certification if applicable

• Coordinate with vendors and contractors

• Partner with management on various projects and job duties, such as on new and inventive maintenance procedures and protocols

• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent GED

• Must be skilled in the use of various hand and power tools

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a maintenance capacity or similar role

• Able read and write in English

• Basic computer proficiency

• Able to use a handheld radio and communicate effectively

• Excellent decision-making skills and follow-through skills

• Punctual and able to complete projects on time 

• Energetic, self-motivated, and eager to learn new operating procedures

• Possess a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record 

• Requires prolonged standing and bending; able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

• Flexible schedule; can work varying shifts, weekends, and some holidays as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience Required - 3-5 Years
