Excellent retirement package and optional deferred compensation plan.  Health, vision, dental, ‎disability, and other supplemental insurance are available at reasonable premium rates.  Paid vacation and ‎sick leave. Nine (9) paid holidays and one (1) personal day.  Tuition waivers are available for State Universities and ‎Community Colleges (up to 6 credits per semester).‎

The FDVA Nursing State Veterans’ Nursing Homes and Domiciliary are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4,000.00 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.

Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant’s lender.

Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess current Florida licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Must possess a valid CPR card.
  • Must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or a related field and two (2) years of nursing experience - OR - possess an associate degree and have four (4) years of professional nursing experience – OR - have six (6) years of professional nursing experience.
  • Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.‎

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one (1) year of experience working in a long-term care facility with a geriatric population.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Basic experience and familiarity with MDS.
  • Experience conducting RAI-MDS assessments and compiling data reports based on those assessments.
  • MDS Certification.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • The incumbent is responsible for scheduling or overseeing scheduling of all resident MDS assessments to ensure timeliness. Coordinate and oversee all functions of the MDS assessment process to assure compliance with Federal and State requirements. 
  • Participate in residents' level of care determination upon admission.
  • Participate in tracking changes in residents, level of care to assure timely scheduling of MDS assessments.
