Qualifications
Role Overview
As the Director of Human Resources, you’ll have a big mission. Your mission if you chose to accept it will be to lead the HR function for a student housing property management company with 30,000+ beds across the U.S., overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, training and development, and compliance. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, driving a high-performance and inclusive culture, and is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that foster a high-performance culture, support operational excellence, and advance the organization’s mission of delivering exceptional residential experiences for students. You will be responsible for assuring the Company’s standards are achieved and that excellent customer service is delivered. You also understand the value of taking a moment to express gratitude to the village that helped to make it happen. As you can likely tell, 'how' things are done matters just as much as ‘what’ is done here at B.HOM.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of human resources operations and strategy.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to support staffing needs.
- Develop and oversee onboarding and separation protocols and procedures.
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement performance management and professional development programs.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs and advise senior leadership on industry trends and company needs.
- Leverage performance analytics and reporting to help drive future decisions related to human resources and employee performance.
- Manage employee relations matters across dispersed locations.
- Develop and track HR performance metrics.
- Design dashboards and KPIs related to retention, turnover, hiring efficiency, engagement, and training effectiveness.
- Build scalable training and leadership development programs for property-level and corporate staff.
- Support performance management processes and coaching for leaders.
- Analyze employee performance trends across departments and locations.
- Use performance reviews, manager feedback, and productivity metrics to identify high and low performers.
- Collaborate with operations to align people metrics with property performance.
- Assess how employee engagement or staffing levels impact occupancy, lease-up success, or resident satisfaction.
- Lead the talent review and succession planning processes.
- Evaluate employee readiness and performance data to support leadership pipeline decisions.
