Position Summary:
The role of Staff Accountant is responsible for the provision of routine accounting functions for the support of the Accounting department within the organization. Responsibilities will include but not limited to assistance with accounts payable processing, preparation and maintenance of various reconciliations such as cash receipting, credit cards, grocery, and petty cash. General ledger maintenance of fixed assets, journal entry preparation and entry, and preparation and maintenance of budgeting trend reports.
Position Responsibilities:
In a manner consistent with supporting The Arc NCR Mission Statement the Staff Accountant shall do the following:
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
- Maintains fixed asset subledger system, including reconciling book value to the general ledger.
- Processing of accounts payables including invoice review, reconciliation to payments, and processing of checks and ACH.
- Record accrued expenses as required.
- Review credit card reconciliations and post transactions to the general ledger.
- Record and reconcile debt and investment activity.
- Accurate and timely completion of both weekly and monthly general ledger maintenance.
- Prepares both internal and external reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various internal departments.
- Timely and accurately prepares account reconciliations and reports.
- Provide backup support and assistance in maintenance and distribution of Personal Use Funds to individuals supported by the organization.
- Develops and implements new accounting procedures as deemed necessary to improve efficiencies.
- Develop, analyze, document, and implement internal control procedures.
- Provide routine or as needed accounting supports to other departments within the organization.
- Undertake other duties as assigned, including special projects and cross-program development.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Three (5) years of experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping position; including General Ledger.
- Experience working with accounting/general ledger software.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Salaried Position
Min. Annual Salary $60,000.00
Max. Annual Salary $72,500.00
