SUMMARY:

The Commercial Lines Client Manager manages assigned commercial lines Property & Casualty accounts at OHA (a division of HUB International) to ensure profitability and a high level of retention. Develops and maintains proactive communications with clients and OHA associates with a focus on excellent customer service and teamwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and maintains relationships with assigned clients, serving as primary contact for all insurance questions and policy changes
  • Takes primary responsibility for policy expiration management. Ensures that information required for renewal is collected from the client, renewal terms from the carrier are received promptly and in advance of the renewal, and prepares the insurance proposal for client presentation
  • Develops marketing strategy for assigned renewal business. Takes responsibility for the renewal marketing process including: selecting markets, preparing carrier submissions, quote review and comparison, negotiated terms and pricing, obtain optional quotes for coverage enhancements and communicating bind orders to the carriers
  • Performs periodic coverage and risk reviews to ensure the adequacy of every clients’ insurance program
  • Takes advantage of every available opportunity to develop new accounts and new lines of coverage for existing accounts
  • Supports and adheres to agency goals and objectives to place and retain business with the most appropriate carriers
  • Collaborates with Commercial Lines Producers and other OHA associates to provide the best experience to our clients
  • Investigate and resolve issues in a timely and thorough manner seeking help from OHA associates, carriers and other resources as needed
  • Agency billing including: creating premium allocations, renewal, and endorsement invoicing
  • Attend and participate in carrier and client meetings
  • Assist with claim reporting and follow up, when needed, as a backup to Claims Manager
  • Pursue and maintain professional insurance designations as recommended
  • Support and enhance agency culture

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Maintain a state insurance license(s), as required by the Ohio State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in the state of Ohio (or be willing and able to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment)
  • Professional designations such as CISR, MLIS, CRIS, CIC, ARM, CRM, and CPCU are desired
  • College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required

Experience, Technical Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Four years progressively responsible experience in an independent commercial lines insurance agency required or similar years of related work experience dealing directly with commercial insurance coverages
  • Existing knowledge of Applied Epic, or ability to develop it, is essential
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Exc
