Job Description

Informa is seeking a Senior Principal Analyst in the Indirect Sales Channels, Ecosystems, Information Communications & Technology Industry to join its Informa Tech Channels and Omdia market and practice. The successful candidate will focus on indirect sales channels, partner ecosystems and channel partner networks for technology vendors and suppliers in the enterprise, midmarket and small business sectors. Deliverables include market trackers and reports, custom research projects, survey research, white papers, webinars, and industry speaking engagements. The principal analyst will engage with a team of editors, researchers, sales, marketing and operations professionals focused on technology channels. Projects will be focused predominantly in the North American markets with some international expansion in EMEA.

 This position requires a thought leader who will be able to apply strong analytical and communication skills to develop a deep understanding of the indirect sales channel and partner ecosystem. They will develop strong relations with leading software vendors and produce high-quality in-depth reports to support the critical business decisions of our customers. The analyst will have the opportunity to travel i and to build a brand for themselves on the technology conference circuit and in the media.

 Responsibilities

  • Establish and build a scalable indirect sales/ecosystem research business practice that delivers market metrics, sizing, growth opportunities, trends and future forecasting for information communications and technology suppliers.
  • Build out the indirect sales channel research practice’s coverage of technology and communications go-to-market channels.
  • Develop from-scratch high-quality and accurate market size, share, and forecast reports with rock-solid methodology for estimating technology adoption and software vendor revenue, providing short-term and long-term market analysis, fundamental market drivers, top players and market segment analysis, and product development trends
  • Produce thought leading research notes on hot topics, including technology shifts, regional and vertical activity, key product announcements, M&As, and more
  • Develop and analyze survey data, providing in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis on trends, drivers, barriers, preferences, and strategies
  • Using primary and secondary research to build credible base data and market projections; using credible sources to support forecasts; logging all assumptions and working in a clear way; creating the story around market development /opportunities/risks; develop forecast scenarios
  • Forge and maintain relationships with all players in the ecosystem, including software vendors, cloud service providers, equipment manufacturers, end-users, and investment analysts
  • Speak at conferences and present key data findings to customers
  • Forge and maintain relationships with the trade and business press
  • Participate in social media to engage with customers and partners

Regularly drive business development with clients and prospects and support account managers to grow data center physical infrastructure research revenue

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, in the absence of a degree significant experience as a technology content producer/research analyst.
  • Experience as an industry analyst, product management, or corporate strategy experience related to colocation and cloud service providers.
  • Relationships with software vendors, cloud service providers, and other ecosystem players a plus
  • Experience in segmenting, sizing, and forecasting technology markets a plus
  • Affinity for working on a dynamic and global team

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytic, logic, and quantitative skills required.
  • Must be able to produce analysis from a blank sheet, including sourcing their data through primary and secondary research.
