Business Controller

About the Role

As a Business Controller, you will play a key role in supporting data‑driven decision‑making and ensuring strong financial performance across the site. You will contribute to planning cycles, financial reporting, analysis, and improvement initiatives that help strengthen operational excellence. 

This hybrid role is based in Hoofddorp, with an expectation of being onsite at least 3 days per week, and is part of the Site Management Team, working closely with colleagues locally, regionally, and globally.

How You Will Contribute

• Support the full Planning & Control cycle, including long‑term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end reporting.
• Prepare and analyze monthly results in partnership with the Financial Controller, presenting insights to local, regional, and global stakeholders.
• Conduct in‑depth financial and operational data analysis to understand performance, highlight trends, and identify risks and opportunities.
• Participate in business improvement projects focused on productivity, cost optimization, and commercial growth.
• Support commercial processes and evaluate new business opportunities for the site.
• Review, approve, and track capital expenditures.
• Contribute to regional and global initiatives aligned with continuous improvement and strategic development.
• Engage with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure sound financial advice and transparent reporting.

What You Will Bring

• A degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; additional certifications (e.g., CMA) are welcome.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in business controlling, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
• Experience with SAP, BPC, Qlik, or similar systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of IFRS (including IFRS 16).
• Strong communication skills in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• A collaborative mindset, paired with a structured, results‑driven way of working.
• Interest in digital tools and technologies that support automation and process improvement.
• Curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to contribute to a supportive and innovative team environment.
