Position Overview:

As a vital part of our growth acceleration, we are seeking a Global Communications Senior Director to lead a high-performing team responsible for public relations, corporate communications, executive communications and employee communications on a global scale.

The person is this new role will be responsible for rolling out our recently minted company narrative across all external and internal comms channels. A relentless focus on developing cohesive and compelling messaging will be key to delivering aggressive 2024 awareness and thought leadership goals, while an expert managerial prowess is important to fully optimize the team’s operations globally. 

And because we’re not really interested in doing the expected, we’re looking for someone with an insatiable curiosity to try new things, test provocative ideas and constantly uncover actionable learning. Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Communication Planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with Juniper Networks' business objectives.
  • Drive the creation of compelling messaging that supports our focus areas and key themes.
  • Understand the communications landscape and needs of various audiences, regularly evolving to reflect changes to business priorities.

2. Team Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of communication professionals, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. 
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the team, monitoring progress and ensuring successful execution of comms initiatives.
  • Evaluate and refine operational processes to improve coordination and efficiency across the Comms team and broader Marketing organization.
  • Participate in the Brand & Communications leadership team to maintain a cohesive operating model and continue to foster/evolve our uniquely outstanding team culture.

3. Media Relations

  • Proactively engage with media outlets to secure positive coverage and manage the company's reputation.
  • Act as a spokesperson for Juniper Networks, building and maintaining relationships with key journalists and industry influencers.

4. Internal Communications

  • Lead execution and evolution of all internal communication channels and tools to ensure employees are informed and engaged.
  • Drive employee advocacy by fostering a strong internal communications culture.
  • Lead the evolution of our employer brand in close partnership with HR leadership.

5. Crisis Communication

  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans, providing timely and transparent communication during challenging situations.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for media inquiries during crises.

6. Content Creation

  • Oversee the creation of compelling content, including press releases, blog posts, and other written materials.
  • Ensure that all communication materials reflect the company's brand and messaging guidelines.
  • Work with a portfolio of global agency partners to develop compelling, unified and strategically relevant messaging concepts. 

7. Executive Communication

  • Support executive leadership in crafting speeches, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Provide media training for executives to enhance their communication skills.
