As the Tech Program Intern II, you will work with XPO Information Security teams to develop a new metrics and reporting program with an opportunity to showcase your work to senior leadership.  On our team, you’ll have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career you can be proud of.

We are eager to attract the best, so we offer competitive compensation. This 12-week internship program will take place in one of multiple locations during the summer of 2024.

           

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Communicate with members across XPO Infosec teams on requirements and use cases for metrics
  • Build integrations between data sources and reporting/BI platforms
  • Create dashboards and visualizations in a BI platform such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • Validate integrity of data and validity of metrics
  • Write scripts in Python, R, or another similar language to automate the collection and transformation of data
  • Leverage data processing and visualization tools such as Pandas, Numpy, Graphviz, Excel, etc. to find trends in data and visualize results
  • Prepare presentation material and showcase results to senior leadership on a regular cadence

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Recent college graduate or currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited university or college
  • 2 or more years of relevant coursework
  • Strong data analysis skills, including querying and reporting
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with administrative processes

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Class status as a junior (3rd year) or greater
  • Understanding of information security, IT systems, and networking concepts
  • Basic level of competence in one or more scripting languages
  • An understanding of data science and statistics
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
  • Ability to be open-minded and receptive to feedback in an intellectually rigorous environment
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
