What You Can Expect
The Director, Finance Business Partner – Commercial Organization is a senior finance leader responsible for providing strategic financial partnership to the commercial business. This role supports revenue growth, margin expansion, and disciplined investment decisions by partnering closely with sales, marketing, commercial operations, and executive leadership. The individual translates business strategy into financial plans, delivers actionable insights on performance, and helps ensure commercial resources are allocated effectively to achieve short- and long-term objectives. Success in this role requires strong commercial finance acumen, strategic thinking, influential partnership, and the ability to lead through complexity in a matrixed environment.
How You'll Create Impact
- Serve as the primary finance business partner to commercial leadership, providing financial insight and strategic decision support.
- Lead financial planning activities for the commercial organization, including annual operating plan, forecasts, long-range planning, and monthly outlooks.
- Provide analysis and recommendations on revenue, pricing, gross margin, operating expenses, sales productivity, and profitability drivers.
- Partner with sales and marketing leaders to evaluate commercial investments, promotional programs, customer/channel strategies, and growth initiatives.
- Develop business cases, scenario models, and investment analyses to support strategic decisions and resource allocation.
- Monitor key financial and commercial performance indicators, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve results.
- Drive transparency around risks and opportunities and support mitigation or contingency planning as needed.
- Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with commercial and finance leadership, highlighting performance drivers and corrective actions.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, accounting, pricing, supply chain, operations, and other teams to align forecasts and business assumptions.
- Support evaluation of customer profitability, product mix, discounting, rebates, and other commercial levers that influence financial performance.
- Improve reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities to strengthen decision support for the commercial organization.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and applicable corporate governance requirements.
- Influence senior stakeholders and challenge assumptions constructively to improve decision quality and business outcomes.
- Lead, coach, and develop finance talent, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support strategic initiatives, transformation efforts, and ad hoc analyses as required by business needs.
