Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Packaging Technician located in Plaquemine, LA!

About you and this role

An Electrical Packaging Technician provides maintenance craft specific support to the Poly B Warehouse. Maintains and repairs all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
• Calibrates and aligns equipment.
• Completes preventative maintenance activities.
• Checks sizing of components and parts.
• Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
• Coordinates maintenance spare parts.
• Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
• Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures and repairs all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
• Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
• Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
• Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.

Required Qualifications

• 1 or more years of industrial maintenance experience (electrician)
• A valid US driver’s license

• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred
• Experience with warehouse packaging related machinery, including palletizers, conveyors, and other related equipment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
• Work in tight and closed in spaces.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to a full-face respirator, SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
