Role purpose
Multi-skilled tool room technician for the manufacture, repair, and inspect Induction hardening coils, quench blocks, plant tooling and machine components using tool and die skills to include lathes, mills, and other machine shop equipment. Support manufacture and use of all fixtures, jigs, and measurement tools for the manufacture and repair of coils, quench blocks and machine tooling to hold precise tolerances. Maintain all equipment, tools, jigs, and fixtures. Requires hot work to include torch brazing and soldering.
Key responsibilities
Coils, Quench Blocks, and Machine Tooling
Safely operate Manual Mills, Saws, Grinders, Lathes, and other tool room equipment for manufacture of components, tooling. Safely use torches to solder components together during tooling assembly. Development and improvement of fixtures to support coil component and assembly manufacture.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair
Maintain all equipment and ensure equipment machanical accuracy to obtain tolerances for precision tools / components manufacture.
Solutions Analysis
Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional enquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents.
Quality
Conduct complex analyses, quality tests, inspections, and measurements that require a high level of independent judgment. Ensure all work is completed per drawings on CAD system.
