Purpose of Job

Drives the mechanical reliability improvement process for the assigned operating units. Works closely with the unit, maintenance, inspection, & technology peers to troubleshoot and investigate very high and high criticality equipment failures, bad actor failures, and repeat failures to identity and implement improvement plans to maximize mechanical reliability. Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Acquires data and analyzes the data. Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports for defining reliability problems and makes recommendations for improvements. Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the correct solution required to meet the business needs and prevent failures.

Key Accountabilities

Drive the efficient and effective delivery of Mechanical Reliability and ACM Services by:

  • Proactively monitoring critical and high priority assets to ensure maximum equipment reliability and availability.
  • Personally leading equipment troubleshooting efforts on critical and high priority assets to determine if the system is functioning as designed.
  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on precision maintenance and condition monitoring techniques.
  • Maximizing reliability while minimizing the life cycle costs for mechanical assets to include PM/PdM strategies, Condition Based Monitoring, defect elimination, and detailed event documentation practices.
  • Performing and assisting with reliability workflows such as FMEA's, RCFA, equipment strategies, etc…
  • Using your base knowledge in Mechanical Maintenance as well as your advanced technical training in CBM / PdM Technologies to analyze equipment parameters and provide recommendations:
    • that prevent equipment failures and resolve system issues.
    • to ensure that precision maintenance strategies are understood and followed.
    • that ensures that repairs and installations follow or exceed RAGAGEP and applicable codes or standards.

Formal Education

University Bachelors Degree in Engineering

Working Experience

  • 2+ years of practical engineering experience

Required Personal/Professional Skills

  • Sound knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Data driven decision making, cultural sensitivity, business acumen, professional demeanor, and unquestionable integrity.
  • Demonstrated soft skill expertise as it relates to presentations, public speaking, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and relationship building.
  • Reliability Engineer Skills – Moderate knowledge on skills and concepts like:
    • Asset Criticality Analysis (ACA) o Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) o Root Cause Analysis (RCA) o Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) o Asset Strategy Development o Bad Actors o Preventative Maintenance o Predictive Maintenance o SAP PM – Moderate knowledge on SAP or Similar EAM software is preferred. o GE APM (formerly Meridium APM) - Moderate knowledge on GE APM or Similar APM (Asset Performance Management) software is preferred. o Power BI experience – preferred. o Sound knowledge of applicable codes and standards
