Job Description
The Forklift Operator is responsible for assisting designated Machine Operator or Production Team in a variety of functions. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Safely transport finished product
- Unload incoming truck shipments
- Perform routine maintenance, clean up, yard work, warehouse, production, utilities, material handling and any other assigned duties
Responsibilities
- Move controls and levers that operate a forklift in order to load, unload, transport and stack materials ranging in weights from 50 lbs. to 50,000 lbs.
- Load trucks with specified product, sign off on pick ticket
- Perform routine maintenance on forklift, such as cleaning filters, lubricating, recharging batteries, checking safety devices and fueling gas tank
- Handle assignments in a repetitive and/or sequential order for completing tasks assigned
- Keep work area clean
- Use safety gear at all times and follows all safety regulations
- Report any unsafe conditions or defective equipment to the supervisor immediately
- Clean up around machinery and maintain the surrounding area keeping them free of debris during down time
- Clean floors and pick up reusable scrap for salvage
- Transport trash and debris away from production areas
- Responsible for keeping pallets neat and orderly
- Operate machinery or equipment as trained and instructed following safety guidelines at all times
- Operate a variety of hand tools
- Perform other duties and responsibilities from time to time as deemed necessary by the company

Requirements
- Applicant must be able to complete certification program
- Prefer verifiable experience of operating 20,000 lbs. plus forklift, preferably with concrete products
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving
- Good attendance and positive attitude a must
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Lifting may be required with assistance provided if needed
- Must have the ability to read a tape measure
- Must be able to demonstrate lock out tag out procedures
- Ability to follow company production and safety procedures
- Able to pass internal training
- Must attend safety meetings

- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
