Senior Sales Engineer - Nordic Region

THIS IS A REMOTE-BASED POSITION LOCATED IN the NORDIC region, with preference for one to live in Denmark or Sweden.<br/><br/>Calix provides the cloud, software platforms, systems and services required for communications service providers to simplify their businesses, excite their subscribers and grow their value.<p></p><p></p><p><span>We are looking for dynamic, curious, motivated, and self-starting <b>Senior Sales Engineer </b>to join our growing team in the Europe. The Senior SE is responsible for pre-sales technical engagements with our customers, delivering compelling presentations and building aligned network designs, pivoting between credible technical discussion and distilling technical concepts into simple business language while reinforcing the Calix value proposition. In this role, you will interact with and influence senior technical staff and business management within Calix’s broadband service provider customers. You will provide demonstrations of Calix’s product capabilities and assist with lab and field trials. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, experience in a pre-sales position, and confidence in both technical and business forums.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>Responsibilities:</span></b></p><ul><li><p>Positioning and selling Calix networking products and solutions</p></li><li><p>Assist in the preparation of RFx responses</p></li><li><p>Deliver technical sales-oriented presentations to customer's technical staff and senior management</p></li><li><p>Understand business requirements involved with technical account strategy</p></li><li><p>Assist customers and resellers in configuring and testing products and networks in lab and field trials</p></li><li><p>Provide leadership and guide customers on technical and operational issues within areas of expertise</p></li><li><p>Work with customers to design and architect network solutions to their applications needs</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding of the product portfolio to apply the best solutions</p></li><li><p>Influence decisions and adept at simplifying our Calix technology concepts</p></li><li><p>Thought leader and influencer who is fluent in Calix technologies</p></li><li><p>Mentor and counsel to Calix colleagues</p></li><li><p>Research and stay up to date on the most recent industry standards and trends</p></li><li><p>Capture, articulate, and prioritize customer requirements and share with Calix Product Management</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li><p>MSc/BSEE/BSCS desired</p></li><li><p>Strong background and experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access network architectures</p></li><li><p>Strong background and experience with FTTx Fiber based Access solutions</p></li><li><p>Strong background and experience with WAN services, PON and Ethernet based architectures</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS), transport functions (L2/3 VPN) and subscriber management/BNG</p></li><li><p>Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to L2/L3 deployment architectures and methodologies</p></li><li><p>Understanding of Cloud and SaaS solutions and technologies</p></li><li><p>Understanding of in-home wifi solutions and technologies</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal skills, a proven track record of synthesizing and interpreting complex issues into solutions and the ability to effectively work with multiple audiences and levels across organizations</p></li><li><p>Excellent presentation and written communication skills</p></li><li><p>Travel expectations: Up to 50% travel within Scandinavia</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Additional Considerations: </b></p><ul><li><p>Experience in the Scandinavian Broadband Service Provider industry</p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of operational support <span>systems and understanding</span> interactions with APIs (REST/JSON) including design, integration, and troubleshooting</span></p></li><li><p><span>Understanding of network security methodologies, including but not limited to ACLs, Stateful firewalls, VPNs (tunneling, IPsec, PPTP, etc.)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Working knowledge of network management and orchestration platforms</span></p></li><li><p><span>Technical familiarity with Wi-Fi systems</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Location: </span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Remote-based position covering Scandinavia with preference for one to live in Sweden or Denmark </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><span>#LI-Remote</span></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
