Product Design Director - Los Angeles

*Please note this role is specifically for the LA area and requires travel onsite to our client located in LA 3 days a week.

 Would you like to…. 

• Lead a cross-disciplinary team of designers, creatives, strategists, product, and developers to design, build and launch product features into the market.
• Guide the team to take a user-first approach to create world-class design solutions from consumer insights and reflection, through concept, sketching, prototypes, and hi-fidelity production ready designs
• Work across digital product design as well as branding and campaign design
• Act as a primary point of contact for our client that becomes a trusted advisor
• Demonstrate exceptional skills and knowledge of agile product lifecycle management, including how designers, researchers, product, and developers come together effectively
• Guide the team through the entire product delivery process, from concept and sketches, to prototypes and production-ready designs.
• Excellent time/project management skills in a multi-project fast-paced environment, and a high do-say ratio.
• Collaborate with project delivery leaders, technology teams, and stakeholders for seamless execution of design projects.
• Manage and mentor mid-junior designers in the art of managing clients, projects, and producing work efficiently using analog and digital applications to a refined level to hand off to our clients and partners
• Continuously identify opportunities to enhance and evolve design offerings, introducing new strategies, frameworks, and approaches.
• Work collaboratively across the various Wipro teams and Wipro companies to deliver on timelines and quality expectations of your projects including artifacts such as presentations, specs, requirements, and designs
• Present your work in client presentations in strategic terms with a user-focused rationale
• Help to drive our services, processes, and quality of work forward to ultimately bring innovative digital products and services to the market
• Transform our client’s businesses by thinking and working across design, product and technology; being an advocate of user-centered design

We would like you to have…. 

• A bachelors/master’s degree in industrial design, product design, or similar educational background with 8+ years of hands-on work experience in the field including several years of project and team leadership.
• Deep experience with launching products into the market leveraging usercentered design and agile methodologies
• Experience translating research insights into feasible requirements and designs for digital products
• A highly expressive ideations & exploration process involving visualization of multiple concepts and iterative pruning & refinement using different techniques and methods
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Experience managing and owning a client relationship
• Detail-orientation, with the ability to seek creative viable solutions to any given situation A ‘here to help’ attitude, who absolutely, fundamentally believes that we’re better together
• Ambition and vision to build a world-class product design team and practice
• A relevant portfolio of work displaying your experience bringing products to market from concept to delivery
• Experience in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and agile product management tools (i.e., Jira, Shortcut, etc.)
• Comfortable guiding and carrying out user research & testing
• A strategic design thinking and doer who is able to work in complex business environments, leading mixed teams of colleagues and clients, while providing inspiration and direction
• Located in LA and ability to travel onto client site in LA 3 days a week (Tuesday – Thursday)
