As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. You will be responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers, and hospital property by conducting regular patrols and enforcing facility policies.    

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday, 10:00pm-6:30am with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

• Protect patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and eliminating safety hazards. 

• Deter vandalism, theft and property abuse through routine patrols of all hospital property to include inside areas as well as all parking lots and decks. 

• Conduct searches of belongings as required. 

• Enforce Cleveland Clinic facility policies e.g. parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, smoking policy. 

• Monitor facility activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations that may require security involvement. 

• Intervene in patient, visitor and/or staff confrontations as appropriate. 

• Complete appropriate documentation of various incidents. 

• Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures, alarm response, evacuation and internal and external disaster plans. 

• Follow health system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety. 

• Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements to include de-escalation training provided by department within the first 6 months of hire and as required thereafter.
