As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. You will be responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers, and hospital property by conducting regular patrols and enforcing facility policies.
A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday, 10:00pm-6:30am with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Protect patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and eliminating safety hazards.
Deter vandalism, theft and property abuse through routine patrols of all hospital property to include inside areas as well as all parking lots and decks.
Conduct searches of belongings as required.
Enforce Cleveland Clinic facility policies e.g. parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, smoking policy.
Monitor facility activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations that may require security involvement.
Intervene in patient, visitor and/or staff confrontations as appropriate.
Complete appropriate documentation of various incidents.
Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures, alarm response, evacuation and internal and external disaster plans.
Follow health system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements to include de-escalation training provided by department within the first 6 months of hire and as required thereafter.
