Requirements and Nature of Work:

1. Contribute to a descriptive literature review on Black students in STEM and culturally relevant pedagogy to inform the development of panel discussions and materials.2. Assist with panelist selection by researching the professional background and published works of of potential panelists.3. Assist with organizing venue arrangements.4. Assist with drafting and sending invitations to speakers, panelists, and attendees.5. Manage RSVP lists and respond to inquiries from participants.6. Assist with coordinating with panelists and workshop facilitator to ensure they have the necessary materials and information for their presentations.7. Assist in preparing promotional materials, symposium agendas, and speaker bios.8. Promote the symposium on social media and other platforms, creating posts, and sharing updates to boost awareness and participation.9. Manage participant feedback to gather insights on the success of the event and areas for improvement.10. Assist with a post-event report by compiling a summary of the symposium’s proceedings, key takeaways, and recommendations for future research and events.11. Follow-up with speakers and participants (send thank-you notes, help organize follow-up meetings or debriefs if necessary).
