The Certified Medical Assistant Rx Specialist is the first point of contact for patient care. The Medical Assistant supports the providers and care team by acting as a source of contact for calls from patients, pharmacies, and providers. The Medical Assistant will be prepping refills for provider approval. The Medical Assistant Rx Specialist performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

The Certified Medical Assistant Rx Specialist supports providers and care team by executing programs developed to improve overall health outcomes for primary care patients with a focus on prescription drugs and medication therapy. The medical assistant assists in the prescription refill process with the goal of improving operational efficiencies and delivering enhanced medication management services. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities, and timing. The Certified Medical Assistant Rx Specialist works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation. This role supports the full physician panel regardless of health plan and covers multiple clinic locations. Decisions are typically focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards under limited guidance due to previous experience/breadth and depth of knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge. Follows standard policies/practices.

Required Qualifications

1 - 3 years of Medical Assistant experience

Applicable State licensure in field of study (RMA/CMA)

Experience with Electronic Medical Records

Experience with HEDIS

Experience with formularies, prior authorizations, step therapy, and prescription assistance programs

Current CPR certification

Must be a team player with excellent communication skills

Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment

Experience with MS Outlook

Basic Computer knowledge

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
