The Opportunity
Marvell Government Solutions (MGS) designs and develops ASICs for customers in critical infrastructure sectors leveraging Marvell’s leading edge IP portfolio. We are looking for a Senior Staff Physical Design professional to support system-on-chip (SOC) implementation, floorplanning, power grid design, place and route, clock tree synthesis, timing closure, power/signal integrity analysis, and physical verification of designs to ensure successful tapeout and delivery to our customers.Job Responsibilities:
Interns on Marvell’s Physical Design Team lead the development of the layout and design of our custom silicon solutions. Day-to-day tasks for our physical design team feel a great deal like building a city from scratch. Designers start with information like the how big the area is and list of requirements that would need to be within the city, or in this case, chip. From there, they get to work on mapping the ideal layout that takes into consideration elements like power efficiency, distribution of roads or, in our case, routing circuits. As your internship further progresses you may get into more advanced concepts like clocking or even timing closure that all help to keep our city moving efficiently. You’ll be uniquely positioned in our organization to solve problems and collaborate with frontend and integration teams and may even take a chip through to tapeout.
