Job Description
- Oversees the Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) function for both regions (Brooklyn and Manhattan/Staten Island)
- Works collaboratively as part of the WeCARE management team to ensure that VRS activities, functions, and performance are in alignment with other functional activities and the overall WeCARE program goals
- Coordinates resources to optimize employment opportunities and vocational rehabilitation services available to customers
- Supervises the Vocational Rehabilitation Services business services unit, providing guidance and evaluation for staff to exceed performance expectations related to the number of customers placed in employment, and how long those customers remain employed
- Conducts employer outreach and coordinates employer outreach activities of the unit
- Understands and incorporates accommodations into employer communications to maximize customer employment opportunities
- Our customer population might require an accommodation in the workplace, depending on their medical history
- Develops innovative plans and activities that build relationships with employers, community groups, faith-based organizations, non-profits, and government agencies
- Participates actively in chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and other community groups serving employers and job seekers
- Enlists cooperation of community and business leaders to help increase awareness of WeCARE program and services
- Maintains follow-up contact with employers to determine satisfaction with services and plan for quality improvement
- Assigns staff goals related to fast track employment, monitors progress against goals
- Provides guidance to staff on how to motivate currently unemployed customers to reenter the workplace
- Tracks and reports on unit productivity; develops and implements improvement plans as needed
- Executes other assignments related to WeCARE activities as part of the senior management team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Social Services or a related fields from an accredited university and four years of management and supervision experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in working with programs that assist customers in gaining employment, education, and training that leads to education
- Experience in a performance-driven environment and ability to use data analytics to report on and improve processes and outcomes
- High volume staffing and recruitment experience preferred
Education and/or experience in setting that use motivational interviewing and care management models to improve customer outcomes - Excellent team management and coaching skills using process and data analysis, and continuous improvement activities
- Experience with publicly-funded programs preferable
- Understand how to determine the need for and make reasonable accommodations for customers
- Required knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulatory compliance requirements related to program responsibilities
- Ability to use various electronic systems to carry out duties and responsibilities, Outlook, MS Office, proprietary data entry systems
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred
Additional Information
Pay range: $95,000 to $100,000
