About the role

This position is partially or fully grant funded. Employment beyond the term of the grant award may be subject to approval by Executive Council.

 

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with Health Division leadership to support workforce needs in areas such as talent acquisition, talent development, total rewards, employee relations, policy interpretation, and investigations.
  • Lead the development of innovative recruitment strategies tailored to the healthcare field, ensuring alignment with tribal values and healthcare compliance. Screen candidates, manage the interview process, make offers of employment, and process onboarding and orientation.
  • Design and implement employee retention strategies that promote engagement, reduce turnover, and support career growth within the Health Division.
  • Utilize social media to attract candidates, recruitment tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter to find passive candidates, and networking to build a candidate pipeline.
  • Provide HR guidance to healthcare professionals, including clinical, administrative, and support staff, with a focus on career growth, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and navigating complex workplace dynamics.
  • Prepare, review, interpret, and analyze data that supports the creation of systemic HR improvements for the organization, employee engagement, and divisional improvements in leadership development.
  • Ensure Health Division procedures align with HR policies, tribal values, and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Develop appropriate programmatic metrics to build accountability, measure results and optimize impacts of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Provide development and compliance training to the organization as needed.
  • Ensure client group employee effectiveness through recognition, coaching, counseling, skill advancement, performance evaluation, and corrective action. Ensure good leaders become great leaders.
  • Serve as a mentor, coach, and positive role model for ethical behavior.

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field: Master’s degree preferred with 2 years of field-related experience; or bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Human Resources leadership experience; or lesser education with 10 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Desire to drive Forest County Potawatomi to the next level in Human Resources.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, disseminate, and develop creative response models to address client group issues and challenges.
  • Ability to utilize technology such as HRIS, ATS, and MS Office
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with systems selection, installation, and integration for HRIS, LMS, PMS, ATS, etc.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
