This position is for a Systems Engineering Co-op on the BATMAN  team to work on our Resilient Autonomous Networking technologies within the Networking and Gateway Solutions Business. The team provides network translation and content routing services in support of the warfighters need to get the right information where it needs to go fast, safe, and secure.

You will join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where you'll have the opportunity to see the various products we work on and have the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Support the engineering effort to produce, test, troubleshoot, and deliver software system prototypes
  • Develop software application prototypes to be used for internal and external customer demonstrations
  • Integrate and test capabilities on both physical and virtual systems
  • Investigate issues seen during integration and test
  • Learn what it is like to be an engineer!

What You Will Learn:

  • What it’s like to operate rapidly across the full systems V lifecycle
  • How networking works in the battle space
  • How to take customer requirements and turn them into usable capabilities

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiar with networking, IP management, and/or content routing
  • Experience working with object oriented software languages such as C++
  • Familiar with Continuous Integration and Delivery Pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub)
  • Experience with software troubleshooting and debugging on embedded systems
  • Experience with different types of waveforms such as Link16 and 5G
