We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sr. Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, with a primary focus on payroll, accruals, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.. The Sr. Staff Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements. 
  • Accurately post payroll entries to the general ledger, ensuring meticulous attention to detail, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reconciliation of payroll-related accounts.
  • Execute precise accrual processes, demonstrating a keen understanding of accounting principles, meticulous attention to detail, and timely recognition of expenses, thereby contributing to accurate financial reporting.
  • Review payroll through the examination of financial records and payroll data to verify accuracy, compliance with policies, and adherence to regulatory requirements, ensuring precise and error-free compensation processes.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis on key financial metrics, highlighting significant fluctuations. 
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Proactively contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficiency, implementing streamlined procedures, and leveraging technology to enhance overall effectiveness within the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience. 
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant accounting standards.  
  • Exceptional communication skills. 
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Excel and Netsuite preferred.
