What are we looking for?
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for eliciting, documenting and managing functional and technical requirements for Technology portfolio projects. They will act as the primary liaison between business users and the IT project teams to manage user expectations, project scope and changes to requirements. The BSA will use their understanding of business operations, functions, IT services and capabilities, combined with a solid understanding and connection to the business to ensure that internal and external customers receive the expected business value using tools, processes and quantifiable measures. This role will report to the Director, Planning & Program Delivery.

Where you will have an impact
Lead development of functional & technical requirements and design documentation during project discovery and/or execution
Act as a primary SME liaison between business users and IT project teams; work closely with project manager, architects, developers, test team, business users and applicable outside entities (vendors and others)
Manage user expectations and requirements scope
Lead requirements elicitation and definition
Lead fit/gap analysis of functional & technical requirements
Facilitate functional & technical requirements walkthroughs and respond to ambiguities
Lead functional & technical documentation design (use cases, functional specifications, reports, screen prototypes), develop user guides, reference manuals, and training artifacts as appropriate
Actively participate in change management activities
Work with project manager to ensure compliance to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Provide estimates for BSA work efforts on new projects and on-going forecasting
Perform other duties as assigned or required

What’s necessary to do the job?
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field
5+ years business systems analysis experience or comparable experience
Minimum 3 years of analytical experience
3 years of experience documenting business processes, including creating flow charts and process diagrams in Microsoft Visio (or similar software)
Firm understanding of both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
Healthcare or insurance industry experience preferred
