At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Systems Engineering Manager, a typical day will include the following duties:
The candidate will collaborate on the intersection between project operational needs and technical possibilities, and in so doing, work closely with project personnel to ensure project practices are at the highest standards. In concert with the Program Manager, the candidate will serve as the backup to the PM and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area including technical work, staff supervision, financial and business development activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Assisting with planning activities such as roadmap development, systems integration, and provide recommendations to the team and customer on task workload
Supporting one or more integration projects with system planning, development life cycle, coordinate hardware/software integration to include packaging/delivery of equipment
Experience developing and capturing customer and system requirements
Prepare, tack, monitor, and document project level status and milestones
Providing effective communications with multiple organizations and stakeholders
Demonstrated experience successfully managing disparately located personnel
Demonstrated [and current] experience managing programs with complex data processing requirements
Demonstrated and current experience supporting a program delivering systems/tools/solutions in production, while transitioning to better technology solutions
Strong understanding of computer networks and telecommunication systems
Coordinate and track the equipment procurement
Assign, track, and follow up on actions identified during meetings to ensure continued progress
Demonstrated experience managing cost, schedule, and budget of contract against mission requirements and prioritization
Experience interacting with customer stakeholders, COTRs, and contract officers
Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Prior experience with property management and procurement
Experience with purchase orders, vendor quote requests, billing, and expense reports
ITIL and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
