Join us at our San Jose, Eggo plant, as a Facilities Technician! In this role you’ll collaborate with skilled tradesmen and other leaders across the plant in identifying and delivering programs and processes essential to our plant buildings, systems and equipment. You will work to solve facility problems while ensuring environmental compliance! The pay for this position is $31.91 per hour and qualifies for overtime. This position works from 7 pm - 7 am. This facility is a 24/7 operation.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Preventative Facility Maintenance – Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot buildings, systems, and equipment. You will be maintaining the facility and building systems in peak condition. Some of the equipment you will maintain includes hot water systems, chilled water systems, HVAC, wastewater treatment system, air compressors, building security systems, building sprinkler and suppression monitoring systems, electrical power distribution, and ensuring environmental compliance.
- Utilizing Technical Knowledge – Perform work involving millwork, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical crafts. You will be operating equipment safely and report any unsafe work conditions or practice to the supervision.
- Managing Materials & Projects – Identify materials and equipment needed for work to be accomplished and maintain records of such expended assignments. You will be evaluating work orders to determine the scope and work procedures necessary to perform the job.
- Teamwork & Best Practices – Aid other technicians; assisting them on assignments. You will be attending and actively participating in department team meetings. You will play a critical role in the creation of a culture of safety and environmental protection by performing work safely in accordance with Kellanova safety procedures and policies.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Technical degree or related years of large manufacturing building and facility maintenance experience including HVAC, refrigeration, OSHA safety, instrumentation, hot water systems, chillers, pumps, security systems, fire suppression, and monitoring systems, etc.
- Knowledge of and skilled in the use of standard tools, equipment, materials, and methods in building maintenance crafts.
- Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions related to building maintenance
- Ability to locate and identify troubles in the appropriate building systems or equipment and to plan and perform necessary repairs
- Ability to operate or use respirators, breathing machines, eye shields, and related safety equipment
- Ability to work in the following conditions: heat, cold, heights, temperature swings, outdoors, indoors, trenches, or around the following conditions: mechanical, electrical, explosive, fume/odor, dust/mites, toxic waste, chemical hazards, and noise
