Strategic Sourcing Director

Strategic Sourcing Director–NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Build and deliver strategies based on Nike’s foundational goals of capability, sustainability, profitability, and delivery; negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers, and prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes; oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies based on best practices; translate organization objectives into a clear team strategy; set and meet goals that can have far reaching impact on business segment; manage issues and resolve conflicts across cross functional teams, both internally and externally; maintain deliberate connections cross-functionally; manage the development of a team of professional managers and experienced individual contributors; supervise talent management and provide input into succession planning and segmentation activities; oversee performance management, pay, and resourcing decisions for direct and indirect reports; create and communicate classification strategies that create the balance between profitability, sustainability, capability, and lead-time; and ensure alignment with your peers to ensure continuously improving Nike’s processes, and align on measuring performance consistently across all sourcing classifications; and manage a team that will provide analysis to support the strategies you deliver. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Materials Science and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a supply chain-related occupation.
Experience must include the following:
Sourcing including familiarity with supplier network, and supplier and supply base management;
People management such as coaching and inspiring the team, and developing talents;
Project management including setting goals and timelines, and driving key initiatives to improve strategies;
Strategy creation such as develop and deploy sourcing strategies, and build long-range vendor capacity and capabilities plan;
Cross functional alignment including ability to drive alignment cross functions, and working effectively with teammates across cultures;
Footwear industry such as footwear products and manufacturing processes; and
End-to-End Supply Chain including logistics, planning, sourcing, and marketplace operations.
