Job Description

AECOM is seeking to fill multiple positions Senior Construction Project Managers to be based in Coral Gables, FL

Job responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Manages all activities associated with assigned projects including but not limited to, pre-construction, design, construction phasing, closeout coordination, occupancy and warranty enforcement for multiple construction projects including new construction and renovation
  • Organizes and coordinates all construction activities with educational facilities staff and maintenance staff in conjunction with responsibilities. Coordinates with school staff during construction
  • Understands and has working knowledge of CPM scheduling and review for critical milestone activities such as substantial completion and final completion, understands logic of the schedule and basic construction means and methods.
  • Plans and organizes reports, reviews documentation from multiple project teams working on educational facilities projects assigned.
  • Supports overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
  • May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Position may have significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.
  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
  • Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors)
  • Has decision-making authority and directs other Construction Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate.
  • Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS plus 6 years of experience in project/construction management of commercial or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background checks. 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Strong management and communications skills and negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple construction projects of varying values and in varying stages of design/construction. (3-5 Projects of varying values from $500K to $50 Million)
